The Twa people, also known as Cwa, OvaTwa, or Batwa, are indigenous hunter-gatherer tribes native to Central Africa. Historically referred to as Pygmies, this term has fallen out of favor due to its cultural and geographic inaccuracies and pejorative connotations.
